About Me

When asked about my interests, I always highlight 3 A’s: Art, Animals, Anime.

I am an Arizona-based artist who fell in love with the Sonoran Desert at a young age. When I was a teenager I began volunteering at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and I continued to do so through college. My experience working with animals led me to trying to become a zookeeper. I had the privilege of working with many different species, but my favorites are the raptors (birds of prey). Eventually I turned to jobs in education and was even able to teach English in Japan. No matter what kind of job I had, I would still try to find a way to incorporate at least a little bit of art.

I have always loved to draw. It’s rare to find me without a sketchbook nearby and my school notes were always filled with doodles. My style has been heavily influence by anime, which I began watching as a kid. Drawing the characters in my favorite shows and manga helped me improve my art skills A LOT! (Please don’t ever ask to see my old sketchbooks! Haha.) Today, I still draw a lot of fan art; it’s one of my favorite things to do.

Animals and anime have been major interests of mine throughout my life. Art is one thing that has been able to neatly tie those two things together. My art is often either very heavily anime-inspired or depicts the many amazing animals that inhabit our world.
